As time moves on, technology advances, and as that happens we get new computers. But, what about our old ones? Well today we all have an old computer that's lying around and doing nothing except for collecting dust!!
So in this post we will be telling you some of the best ways to actually make good use of that old computer.
1. Speed it up
The reason you probably you left that poor old thing is because it was slowing down. Well you can easily speed it up by either investing on it and installing an SSD in it. (Why that helps) or you can go ahead and follow our simple guide on how to speed up your computer fast!
2. Sell it
Well if you didn't know you can easily sell your ad either on an online classified like Craigslist or on a website like eBay. This way you can earn some money rather then just letting it sit there and do nothing.
3. Tinker With It

Well your old computer is now old...and you don't need it anymore. What you can do with it is release your inner geek and tinker with it. You can open it up, replace the thermal paste and add in liquid metal as the thermal paste, you can maybe upgrade the CPU, and the RAM and make it a little better. Although there is a very slight risk that you may damage your computer, there is a lot of stuff you can learn from opening it up. And if you manage to make it better by just replacing the thermal paste or cleaning it up you can maybe even use it for something else.
4. Make it as a home computer.
Your Old computer can easily run a simple web browser, play videos and download content off the internet.

If you have little kids in the house, you can make that old computer for them. They can play there light games on it. The same can be done for elderly people. All you'll have to do is give them a fresh install of windows and you're done. Or if you plan on giving it to your kids you can add some parental controls and make sure all is good.
5. Make it a Chromebook
Although your old computer might run slow on Windows, it will run much better on Google's Chrome OS. You can do a ton of stuff using Chrome OS and it's much lighter than Windows and it's user friendly as well. By making it a chromebook you can download apps off of the playstore, use the browser use other productivity app like word and your computer will handle those tasks like a breeze!
6. Donate it!
Now that computer is probably useless to you, but it's still very useful for many other people out there and so what you can do is donate it to someone who needs it or give it to a school where they can make good use of it.
7. Use it as a Media Server

You can dump all your movies and pictures in your old PC and download Plex Media Server (free). You can easily set it up and then you can download Plex Media player on other of your drivers to stream those pictures or videos. It works brilliantly and you also get to save a ton of space on your current devices!
