How to Keep Your Android Safe, and Make Sure it Runs Smooth

Viruses suck! Everybody hates them and no one wants them!

But unfortunately they seem to sneak in sometimes and they can be real suckers!

So how can one prevent from getting affected by a malware and keep it running fast and snappy!

1.Third Party App Stores

Firstly and most importantly we recommend you to download all your apps only and only from Google's Play Store as almost all the apps there are safe to download. Downloading from third party sources like Aptoide risks your device from getting malicious code. These third party stores are attractive for many users as they seem to offer paid apps for free.

Firstly one never knows, the apps might contain malicious code in them which can lead to to annoying ads and weird behavior. Secondly, by downloading the paid app for free you're doing a crime. Not only that you're also hurting the developer. Think about it yourself, if you spend all that time and hard-work to make this app and sell it, but you later find out that it's being given out for free without you earning a single cent!

2. Don't Root Your Phone

Rooting your phone allows you to access many things like overclocking the CPU, customizing your phone and much more. That's all cool and all, but rooting your phone also voids warranty and isn't something that's recommended by any manufacturer. Rooting not only exposes you threats, it can also mess up your system. Sure rooting has its own advantages but at the same time it has a few dis-advantages as well.

One of the main ways your phone can be affected is if you don't root your phone the right way! King-root is a popular application that roots your phone in one click. It seems pretty easy and it even gets the job done, but in the long term you will definitely see it taking over your device.

King-root seems to slow down the device and it downloads crap like Purify. The worst thing about king-root is that they are not trusted at all.

3. Don't Download Phone Speeding Apps

The Google Play Store is filled with apps that claim to speed up your device, free up space and extend battery life. But the truth is that, they are lame ! Many apps just straight on don't work, while others do but not in the right way. Some apps tell you that my cleaning the cache they free up space, and they do, but that actually slows down your phone, because the cache is the thing that you are supposed to immediately see when you open the app (even when the content is not loaded). So if you delete the cache, you will see the app will take longer as it first has to download that data as well.

Apps that claim to free up RAM work in a similar way! You see Android is based on Linux, and unlike Windows, Linux is very good at managing it's RAM, so you don't need to worry about your RAM being filled or something!

Same is with the battery life. If there is an app you use frequently don't close it. You can let the app be there in the background, as it actually improves your battery life because opening up the app all over again takes more CPU resources compared to opening it back up when it was already open, and surely more CPU usage causes a shorter battery life!

4. Prevent from connecting to free WI-FIs'

This is something that might be hard to do but it's very important as well. This precaution also applies to your computers (regardless of the Operating System). Connecting to a free Wi-Fi is straight up dangerous, no matter how secure it may seem, until and unless you are a 100% sure that the network is secure, never connect to it.

It's fairly easy to create a fake Wi-Fi that seems to work completely normally and all that, but in reality at the back there is a person logging all your input and maybe even installing malicious code !

5. Never believe on things that are too good to be true.

You often might have seen some links or some ads claiming to make you rich in just one week or offering you to win a lottery or something. Well those kind of things are nothing but a lie. Never download or click on things that seem too good to be true. This is a very simple thing that everyone should know of, yet many people fall for it and end up clicking on them!
