The Note 9 Is Water Cooled!?

Now I am sure most of us have heard of the Note 9 it is the most expensive smartphone in Samsung’s line up and rightly so, it is packing the most punch with its amazing specs especially the CPU: a 10nm beast that is 55% more powerful than the last years note and the GPU is 23%. Now as we know with more power comes more heat and Samsung needed something extraordinary for their extraordinary specs. So you know Samsung slaps in liquid cooling in a phone… as you do and while this technology has been used in the PocoPhone F1 about which we made an article, you can read that here.

Now you might be wondering: what this innovative cooling solution. WELL let me tell you a thing or two about it

This is the thing responsible for keeping the NOTE 9’s CPU & GPU and now as soon as you look at it you can see one thing right away that this is huge, and of course it performs and it performs well.

And if we look a little closer in the picture we can see that the copper pipe is folded over another piece of copper so the larges more spread out piece of the copper is better at conducting heat off of the diodes because a larger surface is in contact to the cover of the components.

In this video he opens a note 9 tearing it down until he gets to the heat pipe here he puls it off and cuts it open to see how the cooling system works unfortunately because there is such a small amount of liquid in the pipe the it evaporates as soon as the pipe is opened, so we weren’t able to see the liquid in there but something that we did see was a wick made of copper that is used to transport the liquid from the hot side of the pipe to the slightly less hot side of the pipe.
