Our Top 5 Favorite Android Apps

There are millions of apps on the Play-Store that can be downloaded, however not all of them are created equal! Some apps are just straight off scams while others are productive apps that can be really useful for day to day use. Today in our post these apps are a combination of our favorite games and apps that we personally use everyday!

1. Firefox Focus

Firefox Focus

We all have heard about the very popular Mozilla Firefox. This is basically a variant of the browser, but with privacy and security kept in mind and as the first priority! Firefox focus has amazing security features. It doesn't keep any sorts of cookies, history and deletes everything as soon as you close the browser. It also has an ad-blocker built in to it in order to save you from those annoying ads or clicking the wrong download button! The browser is pretty fast and has a nice aesthetic look to it, however it can't be used as a normal browser unless you don't mind typing in your passwords again and again. The Firefox Focus app goes so far that it doesn't even allow one to take a screenshot of that app!

2. Pong

Pong is an app which brings an old game into modern hardware. Pong is basically a Ping Pong game which is nicely executed for your smartphone. It has 3 modes, single player, 2 players and a wall mode.

It also has an option for right hand and left hand. Pong is free of cost and it doesn't feature any ads. The game-play is very nice as well, I never felt that I would have done better if I were on a different console.

3. Curiosity

Curiosity App

Curiosity is an amazing app made by the developers of the site curiosity.com You can choose the topics that you're interested in seeing about and then everyday you get new articles and videos related to your topics. The app's interface is pretty neat, however they app does feature a few ads here and there which can be removed by getting the paid version. The articles that I get from my feed are usually quite interesting, sometimes they aren't related to my topic but it is definitely an interesting one and something worth reading. It's an app we love using on a daily basis to fill up our knowledge bank for the day!

4. Material Compass

Material Compass App

Material Compass is an App that makes use of your phone's sensors and gives you the values. It uses sensors like proximity sensors, light sensors to give you the values. It shows you the directions (North, South, East, West), it uses your phones light sensor to see how much light is being hit on it, it uses the proximity sensor to tell you how close an object is to your phone's sensor.

It's an extremely useful app to have in your phone. The Compass apps functionality depends on your phone's sensors. If your phone doesn't have a sensor like a pressure sensor then (of course) it can't tell you the pressure. The Material Compass app is free, has no ads and has no in app purchases as well!

5. Mr. Phone

Mr. Phone is our go-to app for checking phone specifications, release dates, leaks and much more. Mr. Phone is an amazing app that helps compare phones specifications, find about different phones in detail, and it has almost every phone out there. It tells you all you need to know about the phone in great deal, and you can also read reviews by the users about the phone you want to check out. The app overall is pretty well made and is a very handy thing to have when you're on the go. However we wished there was an offline version as you do require an internet connection in order to search and compare phones. The app is free as well but it does feature ads.

6. Photo-math (BONUS)

This app is a live saver especially for students who need to solve those tough math questions. Photo-math is an amazing app that uses your phone's camera to read and solve almost any math problem out there.

It also gives you an explanation through which it got the answer. The app is excellently made and and rarely fails in reading the question through the camera. However it might not be able to read it if the question is not neatly written, but you can still input it using a keyboard. The app has been extremely useful for us as a high school student to solve the questions that we couldn't understand. It's honestly is a super power given to students in our opinion. The app is free and doesn't feature any ads or in-app purchases which is really appreciable.
